Please tell us about the history of Merinos.

Mehmet Erdemoğlu and his family started manufacturing at two kelim looms in Gaziantep in 1970. Merinos continued producing kelims until 1983 and started making carpets at that year. A gigantic brand has started establishing itself in the 1990’s. The company started producing its own yarn in 1992 and having started with the domestic market, Merinos keeps growing each and every day.

Today, Merinos is a huge institution with the biggest production capacity and the most up-to-date technology in Turkey’s machine-woven carpet industry.

Merinos started with two kelim looms and continues its professional life by producing over 1.800.000 m2 carpet monthly on more than 70 electronic Jacquard looms.

Merinos exports to 47 countries around the world and has been the export leader of the sector for the last seven years. In June 2009, the carpet factory in Rostov, Russia started to manufacture. The investment necessary to build the company was 60.000.000 USD. With the competition advantage provided by products woven at the new computerized looms and local production, Merinos intends to increase its market share in Eastern Europe, Russia and the Turkic Republics by conducting marketing and sales activities in the region.

With tons of yarn and millions of square meters of carpet manufactured in the production facilities in Gaziantep, Merinos is among the biggest three carpet producers in the world today.

Merinos started investing in furniture in Izmir, Torbalı in 2004. The company continues its production since 2010 on its manufacturing plant equipped with the latest technology in the world, on an area of 700.000 m2 open space and 160.000 m2 indoors space.

Each day, Merinos becomes stronger with accurate decisions and investments, and with its service mentality that puts the utmost value on quality.

Could you briefly summarize the solution that you have achieved in collaboration with Nebim?

When we at Merinos decided that we wanted to have retail stores, we chose to get help from Nebim, based on the recommendations of other leading retail companies. In the beginning, Merinos, Padişah and Dinarsu regional dealerships started using the Nebim system, and then the necessary technical preparations were completed at Merinos showrooms so that stores and retail points of sale started using Nebim.

With the transition to retail, our understanding of IT has changed significantly. Thanks to our collaboration with Nebim, we have achieved an integration that meets our needs as manufacturers and that can widen the horizon of the retailer personality.

With Nebim, we can monitor on a daily basis all kinds of movement such as the inventory of the dealerships or the products in high demand. We can instantly see the turnovers on the online platform and we can carry out many analyses on our screens. Not only that, we also benefit from Nebim’s applications for sales on installments as well as their follow-up, finance, accounting and receivables management.

For which phases of your business do you use Nebim?

We use Nebim solutions such as Finance and Accounting, Inventory and Orders Management, Retail, Warehouse Management, Customer Relations Management and Business Intelligence.

Generally, the marketing activity of Merinos consists of the following: The products manufactured in our factories are brought to the main dealerships via marketing companies. The deliveries from these points to the retail dealerships are then monitored. Thanks to Nebim’s solution regarding online orders, our products are sent automatically and directly to the main dealerships with dispatch notes, and the whole process from the factories to the marketing companies is carried out automatically. While all these transactions are carried out, the main dealership receives the information regarding the delivery when the product is on its way, so the approval is done easily.

The order and delivery transactions between the main dealership and the connected sub-dealerships are also carried out with the Nebim online program. Each main dealership can manage the warehouse and their connected sub-dealerships and we can monitor all main dealerships in a single application thanks to Nebim. The main dealerships can obtain reports regarding orders to the factories as well as warehouse inventory information on the same screen, and the orders and the inventory are checked by them in a more accurate way.

Using the Warehouse Management application, the sub-dealerships that use Nebim can see the warehouse of their main dealerships and place their order on the same screen. With this application, the delivery status of the orders can be reported in a detailed manner and all transactions regarding the main dealership are monitored easily.

Can you please talk about the solution that you have reached with Nebim Halogen Business Intelligence?

Thanks to the Halogen Business Intelligence solution, which is another productivity-enhancing application developed by Nebim, each main dealership can obtain the reports regarding them.

With the Business Intelligence application of Nebim, we can access more accurate data in a faster way. And it is possible for us at the headquarters to monitor from a single point all the sales of the main dealerships and retail locations that use Nebim.

In short, using this application we can understand our existing business performance and we can make decisions based on information. With these more accurate and fast decisions, we can define our targets in a clear way and progress towards them.

Could you talk about the benefits of Nebim for Merinos?

Our company is open to innovations regarding IT. Thanks to the solution that we have achieved together with Nebim, the company can manage the marketing companies, main dealerships and retailer dealerships online using a single software and keep track of business processes.

Before Nebim, the main dealerships had various offline applications. With Nebim, we brought this disorderly structure together online and achieved a success rate of 80 %. Now, all transactions are reported instantly and analyses are carried out. Our active retail dealerships are monitored periodically and the campaigns are only implemented at active retail dealerships.

When we started implementing Nebim solutions, our targets were set at the time-work curve as minimum time and maximum work, at the cost-work curve as minimum cost and optimum work, at the work-quality curve as optimum work and maximum quality. When we look at the current situation, we see that we move in accordance with our targets.
